Care Instructions
Fabric hammocks and bed: These items can be machine washed as you would any article of clothing. Machine wash of regular cycle and dry on low to medium heat.
Detergent will not affect the materials, but remember that our small pets have very delicate respiratory symptoms and what smells nice to you may be overwhelming to them!*
Dryer sheets can be used, but note that fleece is not an absorbent material as flannel/cotton are. Urine will be 'wicked' through the fleece to the absorbent material or will dry quickly. Dryer sheets can cause items to be softer, but may also water proof them a bit, causing urine to sit on top of the fleece instead of wicking through.
*Detergent making your pets sneezy or just want something to work on tough odors? Try a half cup to a cup of white vinegar in their wash instead of detergent.
Crocheted Rats: Rinse with damp wash cloth. Do not tumble dry with high heat, this can cause the fibers to shrink and become very brittle. Air dry or dry on no heat in a laundry basket.
Crocheted hammocks: Hand wash or machine wash on gentle in laundry basket. Air dry or dry on no heat in a laundry basket.
IMPORTANT: Please remember to check all items in your pet's cage for every day wear and tear or chewing. Snip all loose fabric or yarn, making sure no holes are large enough for heads or limbs to get into without being able to get back out. Toss items if they are chewed to a dangerous degree.
